According to the last information, only 6 persons have become members of precinct election commissions out of 335 nominated members of the Belarusian Popular Front.

Three activists of the Belarusian Popular Front have become members of precinct election commissions in Minsk, one in Brest, one in Vorsha and one in Horki.

Similar information has been received from the United Civil Party. Out of more than 300 representatives of the United Civil Party only 5 have become members of precinct commissions.

“In fact, it’s a demonstration that nobody is going to count votes of electors during the “parliamentary elections”. After such decisions, participation of the Belarusian People’s Front in the “election” is doubtful. On August 30 an extended Sojm of the BPF is to take place, and we’ll adopt a final decision on our participation or withdrawal from this election campaign,” Viktar Ivashkevich said to the Charter’97 press-centre.
