Ivonka Survilla: “Military agreement with Russia is seizure of Belarus”

President of the Belarusian National Republic Ivonka Survilla addressed the Belarusian people in an open letter in the connection with possible signing of an agreement of united missile defence between Russia and Belarus.

“Dear Belarusians, you have probable noticed that I publish open letters rarely only when I notice that your life and the Belarusian state are in great danger,” the letter reads. “I am writing to you in the connection with the events in Georgia and A. Lukashenka’s project to sign new military agreements with Russia.

In the time when the democratic world condemned the Moscow’s aggression against Georgia, Lukashenka met with Putin’s associates not to defend the offended independent country but to congratulate the criminal authorities of the neighbouring empire on their ‘beautiful’ aggression.”

“Dear Belarusians,” the BNR President writes. “I regret to see some of view believing the Kremlin’s propaganda and take it as rights and fair instead of being indignant with estimation of the events in Georgia. If it were the only point! On behalf of you, on behalf of dumb Belarusian people that is forbidden to express true opinions on this and other points, connected with its future, the head of the Belarusian state promises the Moscow’s satraps to sign new “defense” agreements with them, which will drive our people in wars and make them be the first victim of any conflict with Russia and the rest of the world.”

“Dear Belarusians,” the BNR Preside addresses the Belarusians. “Don’t allow this agreement to come in force. Don’t allow your country and lives to become a trade object for these hostile people! A military agreement with Moscow is a new seizure of our most important treasure, the land of your ancestors, your children and grandchildren.

Our duty is to defend this land, given by God to us. I ask God you hear my voice! In order you hear and understand how the current events are dangerous for your future. Russia revealed its real face in regard to Georgia. It showed that morality and human dignity mean nothing for it. It attacked small Georgia and in the same way it will use any opportunity (or invent it) to send its tanks to Belarus. In this case it wil be too late to defend. It is now when we must defend ourselves.”

“Before that protest as strong as you can against signing pseudo-defense agreement with Russia, because it will become our grave,” Ivonka Survilla concluded.
