Lukashenka to control statistics

The Ministry of Statistics and Analysis has been formed into a National Statistics Committee, subject to Lukashenka.

Alyaksandr Lukashenka signed an appropriate decree #445 n 26 August.

By this decision, an agency of state statistics got out of control of the government and became independent in its activity, as the adopted in 2005 European Statistics Code of Practice demands.

It is obvious that after Lukashenka has taken statistics over his control, it will be more difficult to learn real figures about the economic situation in the country.
