Activist of the Minsk Young Front Vadzim Khanyauka, arrested for 15 days for participating in the campaign of boycott of “parliamentary election”, has been released today.
His friends, Young Front activists, including Zmitser Dashekvich and Nasta Palazhanka, were waiting for him with flowers.
It should be reminded that Vadzim’s friends couldn’t learn for 12 hours what had happened with him on the day of his arrest. Vadzim told the details of his detention after his release. “As soon as I enter the garage, where I had some materials for the “BOYCOTT 2008!” campaign, car with riot militiamen inside, who had obviously spied upon me, drove up. They stoke me down to the ground and beat me, then they guarded me to the Savetski district militia department and drew up a report allegedly for hooliganism,” Vadzim says.
According to the activist, it was very cold in cells. “when the weather became very cold, prison guards closed all windows and it was difficult to breath for me among the 14 cell-mates who were smoking,” Vadzim Khanyauka tells.
Mikhail Illin and Yauhen Skrabets have been released in Brest today. It should be reminded that Young Front activists were detained during drawing graffiti “BOYCOTT 2008!”, accused of using of obscene language and sentenced to 5 days of arrest.
