Zyanon Paznyak: “Blind executors of mindless directives”

The chairman of the Conservative Christian party Belarusian Popular Front Zyanon Paznyak has commented the results of the election to the “parliament” to Radio Svaboda:

“The first and most important result of the election campaign is that the vote has been falsified gracelessly, cynically and impudently. The result of this election and the whole process of its holding cannot be recognized by either democratic or valid or normal. The “Deputies” selected by the regime, do not have people’s trust and are illegitimate deputies.

Another significant result is that on Sunday, September 28, boycott of the poll by voters took place. No more than 30% of voters have taken part in the election, and in Minsk even less, about 25%. Polling stations in Minsk were empty. It has been verified by all our observers of the Conservative Christian party Belarusian Popular Front, which prepared boycott of the voting. Thus on the election day, September 28, two thirds of voters stayed away from the vote.

The election to the “chamber” hasn’t become legally qualified. The electoral farce of the regime aimed at cheating the people totally failed. The fact that despite of the obvious failure the CEC announced that allegedly 75% of voters took part in the elections, demonstrates open and shameless unlawful seizure of power in Belarus by a group of pro-Russian persons, who stop at nothing to maintain power. They have once again confirmed they are an anti-Belarusian regime.

I must say that I people and organisations who were taking part in the dishonest elections went all the way, if they have supported the boycott of the elections, the blow on the regime were even stronger. The regime has started to shake, but as one could expect, the dummy opposition objectively has supported the regime, giving it a room for manoeuvre and for lies. And now they are yelling: “We have been let down!” But they have let down themselves. Actions of this public show how dependent and unskilled at Belarusian politics they are. They are blind executors of mindless directives of Europe, which does not understand at all what is happening in Belarus.

The false election held by pro-Moscow regime can be recognized by the international community by no means, which has been confirmed by the OSCE observers by the way. They stated the vote fell short of the democratic standards.”
