Activist of the Belarusian Popular Front (BPF), MP candidate Valer Putsinski, said he withdrew his candidature fro the “election”. Putsinski informed the Rechytsa district election commission about his decision on September 1.

“The authorities will never hold democratic election, because it will put an end to the regime. We shouldn’t have started this campaign. We should have boycotted this “election” from the beginning in for people to know that we join the boycott. We will agitate for boycott. For instance, I have received information that I shouldn’t withdraw because many people were going to vote for me only because I managed to registrant as a candidate. But people don’t understand their votes mean nothing,” Putsinski commented on his decision to the campaign “Human Rights Activists for Free Election”.

V. Putsinski was the only BPF member, nominated for candidates in the biggest region of the country – the Homel region. He is a head of the region party organisation. He was nominated for candidates at a party session. On September 1, two more candidates withdrew in the Homel region, namely members of the United Civil Party Vasil Palyakou and Leanid Sudalenka.
