Milinkevich and Sevyarynets detained at entrance to Belarus

Leader of the “For Freedom” movement, former presidential candidate Alyaksnadr Milinkevich and member of the organising committee on creation of the Belarusian Christian Democracy NGO Paval Sevyarynets were detained at Kamenny Loh border checkpoint on Belarusian-Lithuanian border.

As the press service of Alyaksandr Milinkevich reports, the politicians were returning from Vilnius, where they had taken part in international conference European Neighbourhood Policy: If “Parliamentary Election” 2008 in Belarus will be a Democratic Choice? The event was initiated by the European People’s Party.

The detained were seized disks with Yury Khashchavatski’s Square film. At the moment, reports on search and seizure of video materials are being drawn up. “There are many people in civvies besides borderguards and customs officers at the checkpoint,” the message of A. Milinkevich’s press service notes.
