Trade union activist detained in Salihorsk

Today policemen from Salihorsk police department detained an activist of Belarusian Radio and Electronics Workers’ Union (REWU) Mikhail Pakhabau.

Radio Svaboda was informed by that be a coordinator of the in the region Larysa Nasanovich.

“Mikalay was on his way to Salihorsk from Minsk. Policemen detained his car and found a printed address of REWU supporters to the authorities of the city about the necessity of construction of a new policlinic. He also had CDs and an informational bulletins “For Freedom”, Nasanovich informed.

As said by Larysa Nasanovich, at 3 p.m. the trade union activist was still kept in the building of Salihorsk police department. As said by the officer on duty, an investigator was having a conversation with Mikhail Pakhabau.
