Riot policemen in mufti detained the leader of “Young Belarus” movement Artur Finkevich together with an activist of the organisation Syarhei Kastylenka.
It has happened a few minutes after the rally finished. The rally was held by activists of the “Young Belarus” near Serabranka shop dedicated to the Solidarity Day, Radio Svaboda informs.
Activists were handing out leaflets with information about the forcibly abducted. After the rally started, the young people were standing on a bus stop. A minibus with tinted glass stopped near them on the bus stop. People in mufti jumped out of the minibus. They seized Artur Finkevich and his laptop. Onlookers had an impression that the persons in mufti were interested in the laptop more than in its owner. Artur tried to pass the laptop to Syarhei Kastylenka, but that guy was seized as well.
Artur Finkevich managed to inform on the phone that he was taken to the police department of Pershamajski district. Earlier he said that policemen threatened Artur to open a criminal case against him for false denunciation. The matter concerns December events, when Artur was seized near his house, dragged into a minibus, beaten up there, and then thrown away in a field.
