Last year adverse balance of trade of Belarus was $6.2 bn

It has been stated by the head of the State Customs Committee Alyaksandr Shpileuski.

As said by Shpileuski, Belarus’ balance of foreign trade in 2007 increased by 44.7% as compared with 2007, and the adverse balance of trade was equal to $6.2 bn.

“The foreign trade of Belarus in 2008 was $72.5 billion, and decreased by 36.9% as compared to 2007,” A. Shpileuski said at a press-conference in Minsk.

The chairman of the State Customs Committee informed that in trade with the CIS countries the foreign trade balance was an adverse balance of $11.6 bn, or 48.7% more than in 2007. The foreign trade balance with countries outside the CIS was positive, or $5.4 bn as compared to $3.5 bn in 2007, A. Shpileuski said.

According to the chairman of the State Customs Committee, the adverse balance in trade with Russia was $12.96 bn, and increased by 55% as compared to 2007.
