The National bank of Belarus does not recommend people to take loans in banks, said the spokesperson of the National Bank of Belarus Anatol Drazdou on air of the ONT channel.
“I would like to recommend them to think twice before doing that [taking credits], A. Drazdou said, when speaking about the growing number of Belarusians who want to receive a loan. “There is an impression that people do not think that they would have to return money, but they would have to,” said the spokesman of the National Bank, “Interfax” informs.
At the same time, as said by him, the current rate for credits “has reached the level which could be considered prohibitive.” That is why A. Drazdou advises people who plant to take a credit, “to count your income, whether this income would be stable for a rather long time, whether you would be able to pay to the bank on time”. As said by him, the population shouldn’t expect the ruble “to lose its value” and it would be easy to settle accounts with banks. “This wouldn’t happen. Loan interest rate will smooth that over, and you would have to pay at full scale,” A. Drazdou said.
NBB dispels rumours about Belarusian ruble’s denomination
“I know nothing about denomination,” Drazdou said.
As said by him, “the information disseminated on the web now, including reports with the reference to state informational agency are 100% fake”.
“This all looks very much like a deliberate economic subversive act. I think that law-enforcing agencies are to take care of that,” A. Drazdou said.
In early 2008 the National bank of Belarus dispelled rumours about denomination too.
On January 2, 2009 the National Bank of Belarus carried out the largest devaluation of the national currency over the last 6 years, 20% at once.
Earlier denomination in Belarus was held two times, in 1992 and in 2000.
