- 26.10.2009, 16:25
The rally will start near Minsk Watch Plant in Independence Avenue at 10:30 a.m. on November 1.
The Conservative Christian Party BPF applied to the Minsk city executive committee for the rally. Traditionally, it will be a memorial event dedicated to Dzyady, the day of commemoration of the dead.
Demonstrators will march on the route: Independence Avenue – Kalinouski Street – Sedykh Street – Kuibyshev Street – Hamarnik Street – Mirashnichenka Street. A memorial meeting will be held in Kurapaty complex at 3:00 p.m. Under different estimations, from 30,000 to 200,000 people were executed in Kurapaty during Stalin’s repressions.
As the information commission of the Conservative Christian Part BPF reports, the rally was permitted.
Activists of the Belarusian Popular Front are going to join the rally, organized by the CCP BPF.
We remind that the first mass meeting on Dzyady, the day of commemoration of the dead was held 21 years ago. It laid the beginning of open confrontation of Belarusians with the communist regime.
