Polish Border Police Helicopter crashed in Belarus, everyone died (Video)

Three members of the crew on board died in the crash.

The helicopter of the Polish border police helicopter which disappeared on Saturday was found at the territory of Belarus. It has been informed by Lenta.ru with a reference to Polish TV channel TVN24. According to representatives of fire emergency, the crash happened at about 200 metres from the Belarusian-Polish border.

Rescuers found the accident site on November 1 early morning thanks to the smell of aircraft fuel. Search operation was held on the ground, as it was hard to spot the crash scene from air because of the thick fog and darkness. All the three members of the crew died.

As said by the representative of the Polish rescue service, the helicopter started patrolling Eastern border at 3.15 p.m. local time. At 5.40 p.m. there was no signal from the helicopter any more. One of the dwellers of Klukowice village which is situated not far from the crash scene told later that he heard a blast. However, the TV Chanel notes, it is known that there was no fire after the crash.

The cause of the accident was not immediately known. The commander of the crew had 15 years of flights experience, and the helicopter was completely properly operating. As noted by Radio Gdansk, as the helicopter crashed on the Belarusian side of the border, the investigation is to be carried out by the Belarusian prosecutor’s office.

As www.charter97.org website informed earlier, on October 26 a jet belonging to a private Russian S-Air company crashed not far from the National airport Minsk. Five persons – three crew members and two passengers (including the air company director general) were killed.

On October 23 a private US Falcon 2000 plane performed an emergency landing in Minsk-1 airport. Landing gear door was not closed after leaving Domodedovo airport in Moscow. Seven passengers and three crew members were on board. No one was injured.

On October 29 in the evening a business-class Cessna 56X plane belonging to German air company Windrose Air made a crash landing in Minsk airport. The plane was flying from Warsaw to Vnukovo airport, Moscow.
