A delegation of Military Political Academy of the Vietnam People’s Army pays a visit to Belarus on November 9–12.

As BelaPAN learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Defence, the delegation is to study the personnel training system and organising ideological work in the Belarusian Armed Forces, study functioning of military mass media, visit Military Academy and the 120th guard armored brigade.

As charter97.org has reported earlier, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Belarus Dang Huy Tran said at a press conference in Minsk in August 2009 that Vietnam would buy arms in Belarus.

“It’s not a secret. We buy your military hardware, in particular, tanks, spare parts for military transport, radar equipment,” the ambassador said.

He noted that an agreement allowing Vietnamese officers to get education in Belarus had been signed during the recent visit of Belarusian defence minister Leanid Maltsau to Vietnam.

The ambassador reminded that the ministries of defence of Vietnam and Belarus signed an agreement on training high technology personnel.
