On November 9, the International Day against Fascism, Racism and Antisemitism, activists of the civil campaign “European Belarus” carried out a picket in the center of Minsk.

The young people came to Victory square with posters depicting Germany’s reichskanzler Adolf Hitler and his associates crossed.

The “European Belarus” activists continued the action in Independence Avenue handing out leaflets.

The objective of the action was to attract public attention to the problem of spreading fascist ideas among the youth and show people all nations have equal rights regardless of the colour of skin, eyes, hair, the peaceful future of the people is possible only in friendship and cooperation of all races.

We remind that the International Day against Fascism is marked on an anniversary of Kristallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass, which was an anti-Jewish pogrom by Nazi on 9 to 10 November 1938.

267 synagogues and 815 shops and firms owned by Jews were destroyed and burnt. 20,000 Jews were arrested and thrown to into concentration camps, 91 people were killed. The Kristallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass, often referred as the beginning of the Holocaust – the genocide of the Jews led to killing of 6 million people.
