Head of Lukashenka’s Administration Uladzimir Makei is offended that the so called Public Consultative Council was called a “dummy and declarative institution”.

In connection with public remarks by opposition politicians and public figures, among them members of the Public Consultative Council, saying the Council is a “dummy and declarative institution”, head of the Council at the President’s Administration Uladzimir Makei issued a statement, which says that “some mass media began to describe the council as useless and needless, stating that all questions of electoral legislation reforms have already been solved at a meeting with president.”

“Taking into account the above mentioned facts, I have decided to suspend activity of the Public Consultative Council and have personal consultations with the council members regarding our further cooperation. I hope those who state about their allegiance to Belarus and adherence to public dialogues will at last confirm their words by real and positive actions for the benefit of our state,” Makei said.

We remind that the Public Consultative Council unites a number of public figures but doesn’t have real power.
