Two documents were adopted at the so called Belarusian European Forum held in MAZ plant palace of culture in Minsk on November 14.

As website Milinkevich.org reports, “Pro-European Forces Action Programme Following the Forum” and a resolution were adopted. Two amendments were proposed to the resolution. A demand to release political prisoners and inadmissibility of convictions on political motives were included in the demands section. The action programme was adopted without changes.

As it follows from the document, public control over the dialogue between the Belarusian authorities and the EU and raising the questions for the dialogue was declared priority tasks for 2010–2011 (the period of the presidential campaign). The document doesn’t set aims for the pro-European democratic forces to ouster the last Europe’s dictator from his office and win the presidential elections. The ruining policy amid the economic crisis and an increase of the total foreign debt by 6bn dollars for nine months are not mentioned.

But the documents contains such proposals as “learning how to cooperate with the authorities”, “finding solutions to the most acute economic problems in Belarus”, “exchanging experience between Belarusian government machine and European officials”, “lobbying exchange programmes for MPs” as well as “carrying out researches aiming at unveiling stereotypes of the EU” and “working out investment projects for Belarusian regions”.
