Negative balance of foreign trade exceeds $5bn

The negative balance of foreign trade grew by $314.3mn in September.
As AFN reports, the balance of foreign trade is negative for January–September 2009 ($5021.3mn) the negative balance was $4245.3mn in January–September 2008.
The volume of foreign trade in goods in January–September 2009 makes up $35939.5mn, decreased by 38.7% yoy. Import of goods amounts to $20030.4mn showing a 4.8% decline, export reached $15009.1mn (dropped by 43.3%).
Deliveries to the CIS member states amounted $6555mn of the total export volume showing a 44% decline yoy. The volume of export to Russia amounts to $4729mn (dropped by 44.8%), to Ukraine – $4729mn (a 50.5% decrease). Export to the CIS members amounted to $8454.1mn showing a 42.7 drop. Export to Germany amounted to $634.3mn (a 0.4% decrease).
Deliveries from the CIS members make $12789.3mn of the total import volume. The decrease amounted to 39.3%. The volume of import from Russia fell by 38.6% and amounted to $11748.9mn. Import from Ukraine declined by 45.9% and made $895.4mn. The volume of import from non-CIS states decreased by 25% to $7241.1mn. Import from Germany fell by 24% to $1534.4mn.
The negative balance of Belarus’s trade with CIS members amounted to $6234.3mn ($9346.2mn yoy). The negative balance of trade with Russia is $7019.9mn ($10575.5mn yoy). The surplus of trade with Ukraine amounted to $279.2mn ($717mn yoy). The surplus of trade with non-CIS states amounted to $1213mn ($5101.1mn yoy). The negative balance of trade with Germany was $900.1mn (1382.1mn yoy).
Belarus’s foreign debt achieved anti-record
According to official information, the foreign debt of Belarus has increased by 66.5% by October 1.
As RIA Novosti has learnt from the Belarusian Statistics Committee, the foreign debt of Belarus amounts to $6.2bn.
In accordance with the Belarusian Law on Republican Budget for 2009, the limit of foreign national debt is $8bn.
It should be noticed that the total foreign national debt f Belarus amounts to near $20bn.
