Swedish ambassador: “EU police will become more concrete and effective”

“It is very good that that has happened. A powerful step towards greater integration of European nations has been done. A period has been put to Lisbon Treaty. It is also good that leaders of the EU countries have demonstrated that they are ready for consensus for the sake of onward movement. I think that after electing the EU leaders no considerable changes would take place in the policy, but the politics, especially international politics, is to become more concrete and effective,” Ambassador of the country presiding in the EU comments to “European Belarus” website on designation of the President of the European Council and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
We remind that Belgian PM Herman van Rompuy was named President of the European Council yesterday, and British Catherine Ashton, the former EU trade commissioner, was elected the EU High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.
