Jacek Protasiewicz: I know that “For Freedom” movement representatives will be in parliament in 2012

An unexpected confession has been made by the head of the European Parliament delegation on ties with Belarus.
The policy of isolation of Belarus hasn’t brought benefits, as is noted by representatives of the Polish Foreign Ministry and European deputies. Gradual steps are to bring Belarus closer to the process of democratization, Radio Racyja informs.
Considering the fact that the official Minsk does not see a perspective of joining the EU, the possibilities of cooperation and rapprochement of Belarus to the EU countries are very limited now, the European deputy and head of the delegation for ties with Belarus Jacek Protasiewicz underlines. However, the politician’s outlook at the future relations and future of the country’s democratization is very optimistic.
- I believe that the opposition in Belarus would take part in the political life of the country. Proceeding from that, and according to my personal conviction, I know that since 2012 members of Milinkevich’s movement would be represented in the parliament. I can bet. In general, our aims in Belarus are very ambitious, and it is worthwhile to fight for them. On the other hand, speaking about advantages of the open politics, we have only one year against 10 years of the isolation policy. So it is too early to speak about specific progress so far.
