Political prisoner Andrei Tsyanyuta prohibited reading independent press

Pressure is still exerted on the “Young Front” activists in the military unit.

As mfron.net reminds, about a week ago Andrei Tsyanyuta was transferred to an elite military unit of mobile forces of the airborne-landing forces. Before that the political soldier was serving in a military unit in Polatsk.

In the military unit a new round of pressure on Andrei Tsyanyuta by commanding officers – chief ideologue Vitaly Myslivets and commander of the military unit Alyaksei Charnukha – started:

Vitaly Myslivets exerts tight control on the Young Front member and follows all his contacts, meetings with relative sand friends. As for the commanding officer of the military unit, he prohibited Andrei Tsyanyuta to read “Nasha Niva” newspaper. The reasons for prohibition were not explained by the commanding office. He simply said that the newspaper is received by Charnykha now and is stored in his room.

We remind that doctors found Tsyanyuta was found unfit for military service because of 2 degree scoliosis and flatfoot. However, the military enlistment office sent the young activist to a new medical examination, and in early September regional clinical hospital stated he had lower degree of scoliosis.

Andrei Tsyanyuta was sentenced to fines and administrative arrests for his political activities many times. In May 2009 together with other young activists he was on hunger strike of solidarity with political prisoners Mikalai Autukhovich, Yury Lyavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka.

It should be noted that since 2008 a so-called political drafting campaign has started against young activists in Belarus. “Young Front” activists Zmitser Khvedaruk, Ivan Shyla, Yauhen Skrabets and Andrei Tsyanyuta, “BPF Youth” activists Zmitser Zhaleznichenka and Franak Vyachorka were drafted illegally.
