MEP Jan Wiersma indignant at actions of Belarusian regime

The member of the European Parliament Jan Wiersma representing the Netherlands has called upon the Belarusian government to lift restrictions on recuperation trips of Belarusian children abroad.

He has stated that during the meeting with the Belarusian Ambassador to Brussels Uladzimir Syanko, Radio Svaboda informs.

As Dutch informational agencies inform, Jan Wiersma expressed dissatisfaction at the fact that recuperation trips of Belarusian children to the West stopped. As said by him, the EU states should adopt a joint decision on this issue.

Besides, Mr Wiersma has an argument with Ambassador Syanko concerning problems of Belarusian civil society. Syanko stated that “democratically obsessed” European policy towards Belarus is “counter-productive”. In his turn, Mr Wiersma stressed that the basic term for restoration of full-fledged relations between the European Union and Minsk remain the same: to continue political reforms.
