Minsk Mayor Paulau in hospital. Media report he is in grave condition

Belarusian mass media report that chairman of the Minsk city executive committee is in hospital in grave condition.

The press service of the Minsk city executive committee doesn’t comment on the health condition of the head of the city administration.

Head of the press service Alena Lyohkaya confirmed the fact Mikhail Paulau was on a medical leave. “We have no other information,” she said.

A number of Belarusian media have already reported that Paulau is “in grave condition” after “a difficult surgery”, but doctors don’t make long term forecasts.

Mikhail Paulau has been occupying the post of Minsk mayor for the ninth year. Activity of Mikhail Paulau (who was born in the Shklou district, like Alyaksandr Lukashenka) has controversial estimations, but the Minsk city executive committee has got unconfirmed information that Paulau won’t be able to hold this post for long due to problems with health.
