Svetlahorsk militia disarmed for the time of Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s visit

Militia officers in Svetlahorsk were ordered to return duty weapons because of Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s working visit to the Homel Area on April 7, and electrical poles near the town were removed.

There’s information that the local militiamen were ordered to return their duty weapons, only the minimal number of officers on duty were allowed to wear weapons during the visit of Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

In this connection, the local people remind that former interior minister Yury Zakharanka, born in the neighbouring Rechytsa district, started his career as an investigator in the Svetlahorsk militia department. Later, Yury Zakharanka disappeared under unclear circumstances.
