Belarus’ adverse balance is record-breaking: never yet seen rise

In April taken alone, the adverse balance of goods and services foreign trade has grown almost by half.
In January-April 2009, the adverse balance of foreign trade in Belarus was $2072.8 mln (as compared to $673.5 mln in January-April 2008 and $1432.9 mln in January-March 2009), the National Bank reports. Thus, over April the adverse balance has grown by 44.6% ($639,9 mln). At the same time, in January-April this year the adverse trade balance has grown trice as compared to the same period of the last year, AFN informs.
In particular, the balance of foreign trade was negative, $2520.0 mln (the growth is two times as compared to the same period of the year 2008), and services balance was positive, $447.2 mln (decline by 21%).
Over the 4 months the foreign trade turnover declined by 39% as compared to the same period of the year 2008, and was equal to $15260.0 mln. Export of goods and services has dropped by 45.8%, and reached $6,593.7 mln, import has decreased by 32.6% and reached $8,666.5 mln.
