Belarus banking system on the brink

  • 18.06.2009, 16:41

Moody’s international financial research agency downgraded the Belarus banking system.

The outlook has been changed from “stable” to “negative”. The ground is the deterioration in financial and economic situation in the country amid global financial crisis, AFN reports.

The agency placed ratings for six Belarusian banks – Belagroprombank, Belarusbank, Belinvestbank, Belpromstroibank, Bank Moscow-Minsk, and Minsk Transit Bank.

This negative outlook expresses Moody's expectations for the situation in the Belarus banking system over the next 12 to 18 months.
