Ahmadinejad: “We share common stance on many global issues with Belarus”

Iranian president has met with the chairman of the “council of republic” Barys Batura on June 24 in Tehran.
As said by Ahmadinejad:”Iran and Belarus share common stance on many issues of international relations.” He assured that Tehranis ready to develop relations with Minsk.
Ahmadinejad criticized “certain aggressive power that want to restore unilateral order in the world through manipulation of recent global developments.” As said by him, “the world is on the verge of big developments and the domineering powers are losing their grip.” Iranian president spoke in favour of promotion of the Non-Aligned Movement’s influence on “changing international systems”.
In his turn Batura called the presidential election in Iran successful and praised the Iranian nation “for successfully countering blatant external interference.” The speaker said Belarus wants to expand ties with Iran in different fields.
B. Batura welcomed Iran’s proposal on establishment of legal and judicial bodies by the NAM member states and said Belarus is ready for any cooperation in this regard, IRNA agency informs.
The Belarusian delegation headed by Barys Batura visited Iran on June 23-24. As informed by Iranian mass media, representatives of the “national assembly” met with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki and Commerece Minister Masoud Mir-Kazemi.
As the BelaPAN stated earlier, a number of European countries expressed concern over the situation in Iran. After the results of the presidential election were announced on June 12, opposition started protest rallies. According to their results, Ahmadinejad got 62.63% of the votes, his main challenger, Mir Hossein Mousavi collected 33.75% of the votes. Mousavi accused the authorities of rigging the elections results.
On June 20, the eight day of the opposition protects against rigging the results of the presidential elections, the Iranian police used arms, water cannons, batons, and tar gas. Besides police, Basij militia took part in suppressing the rallies.
According to different sources, from 13 to 30 people were killed. Tehran hospitals report about hundreds of people with gun, stab and incision wounds, poisoned with gas. More than 450 were arrested.
