Russia blocked Belarusian MAZ trucks supplies

The Minsk Automobile Plant has faced serious problems with selling its products in Russia.

There are problems with purchasing from the budget funds of different levels. PRIME-TASS learnt this from Syarhei Zakharevich, MAZ deputy commercial director for selling truck transport, during his visit to Avtodizel company in Yaroslavl.

According to Zakharevich, despite the fact that price preferences of state purchases in Russia were extended to a number of Belarusian goods, other regulatory documents hinder MAZ’s products to get access to the Russian market.

In particular, the deputy commercial director noted that Russia “had approved a list of equipment that can be bought from the funds of budgets of different levels; the list includes only goods produced in Russia.”

“So, MAZ can’t sell goods for budget resources. But budget purchases, budget trades prevail in the ratio of the sold equipment,” Zakharevich added.

“If it (a barter scheme)operated in Yaroslavl, we would buy more engines (produced by AVtodizel). The governor understand this well,” Zakharevich said.

“If the governor buys our equipment of public services and city cleaning it will promote engine supplies,” he added and emphasized that MAZ tries to negotiate with every Russian region. “Sometimes we arrange and sell equipment to Russia,” the deputy director said.
