Gambling centre planned to be created near Minsk with visa-free entry for foreigners

In the near future government of Belarus plans to adopt a decision to create a special gambling and entertainment centre at a lot near Minsk.
Interfax-Zapad has been informed about that by a source in governmental circles.
As said by the source, for construction of the gambling centre a land lot is to be given near the national airport Minsk.
At the moment for finding specific conditions which could cause maximum interest of foreign investors in realization of such projects, Belarusian experts study experience of organizing and doing gambling business in Austria, Macao, Malaysia, the source informed.
“Basing upon this experience, the government of Belarus is to prepare in shortest possible time a draft regulatory legal act, which is to offer most favourable conditions both for foreign investors, who are to show their interest in construction of the gambling and entertainment centre near Minsk, and for future clients, primarily for foreign tourists,” the interlocutor said.
A special legal regime is planned at the territory of the gambling centre, including in particular tax allowances, a possibility of visa-free entry for foreign citizens, tax-free trade, payments in foreign currency.
It is expected that the Ministry of Economy of Belarus will be in charge of receiving applications for participation from potential investors who would like to participate in implementing the project of construction the gambling and entertainment centre.
