Hrodna enterprise “Azot” chaired by Russian native

On Tuesday the labour collective of “Hrodna Azot” joint stock company has been presented a new director general, a former people’s deputy of Russia Igor Zhilin.

The former “Azot” director Alyaksandr Radzevich who was in charge of the enterprise for 3.5 years, was appointed minister of industry of Belarus. After that the seat of the director of one of the largest enterprises in Belarus was vacant. As “Salidarnasts” writes, the vacant seat of the director caused a multitude of guesses about who would occupy it.

Besides, according to information of “Grodno.biz”, there were rumours circulating at the enterprise that it would be sold to Russian structures. Thus, a proposal to set up a joint venture was received fro a Russian company ”Gas-Oil” (a subsidiary of Gazprom).

According to unofficial reports, a team of higher mangers, about 6-8 of them, are to arrive, including the one who would occupy the position of chief accountant.

Igor Zhilin was born in 1941. He graduated from Tomsk Polytechnics Institute, Kharkiv Engineering and Economy Institute; he worked as a director general of Rossokhi-based production enterprise “Minudobreniya” (Voronezh region). He was a people’s deputy of Russia (1990-1993), was a member of the Russian Federation Supreme Soviet committee on issues of economic reform and property, he was a member of “Svobodnaya Rossiya” (“Free Russia”) faction.
