Relatives of oppositionists abducted in Belarus give press-conference

A press-conference is to take place on August 17 at 11 a.m. in the head office of the Belarusian Popular Front party in Minsk.

Participants of the press-conference are Volha Zavadskaya, mother of the journalist abducted in Belarus, Zinaida Hanchar, a wife of the former Vice Speaker of the Supreme Soviet of Belarus, a human rights activist, a lawyer Harry Pahanyajla.

The topic of the press-conference is “10 years of political abductions”.

The year 2009 marks 10 years after the former Interior Minister Yury Zakharanka, Vice Speaker of the Supreme Soviet of the 13th convocation, the chairman of the Central Election Commission Viktar Hanchar, a businessman and a public leader Anatol Krasouski, and 9 years after abduction of a TV cameraman Dzmitry Zavadski.
