Landing of military aircrafts on a road scheduled for September 25 was cancelled due to weather conditions.
BelaPAN learnt from the Command of the Armed Forces that landing of MiG-29UB and Su-25UB of the Belarusian air forces and air defence forces on an aerodrome road section scheduled for September 25 has been cancelled due to unfavourable weather conditions.
A fighter and a strike fighter will simulate landing approach and fly at a height of about 100 meters above the road.
Crew teams of the 927th fighter air base (Byaroza, the Brest region) and the 206th attack airbase (Lida, the Hrodna region) are to perform the flights with the use of an aerodrome road section. Helicopters Mi-24 of the 181st helicopter base (Pruzhany, the Brest region) are to conduct air cover of the flight zone.
The aims of the exercise are training of using sections of automobile road as alternative or dispersal fields, preparation of air staff to perform flight from aerodrome road areas.
Different military units, subdivisions and services of the Air Forces and Air Defence Forces are involved in flight support. Personnel of subdivisions of signal troops are responsible for radio security; subdivisions of the radio technical troops must maintain radar control of aircrafts on the routes, delivering radar information to air combat operations control centers. Subdivisions of airfield-engineering aviation, engineering and logistics support will prepare the airstrip, fuel aircrafts, camouflage aviation and ground equipment.
