Belarus considers a possibility to obtain funds of the International Monetary Fund as a Precautionary Credit Line (PCL).

It had been stated following the results of the IMF Board and the World Bank in Washington.

“We will carefully study this new instrument; the IMF mission as well will express its ideas concerning possible instruments acceptable proceeding from evaluation of the Belarusian economy,” “Interfax-Zapad” agency was told by one of the Belarusian participants of the session.

He explains this is not ready money, these are not reserves, but a potentiality to use credit money in case they are needed for urgent foreign financing under the existing macroeconomic policy.”
