Prosecutors think oppositionist beat himself

The prosecutor’s office of the Petrykavichy district refused to initiate a criminal case over Kanstantsin Zhukouski’s complaint who had been beaten by the militia at Call of Palesse fest.
We remind that the oppositionist was beaten by unknown people at Call of Palesse festival in the Petrykavichy district on September 17. He was detained by the militia, accused of using obscene language and disobedience to the militia. Later Zhukouski was sentenced to 10 days of arrest.
The oppositionist filed a complaint to the prosecutor’s office informing he had been beaten by three militiamen in Lyaskavichy on September 17. According to Zhukouski, he was attacked by three men who didn’t introduce themselves. They took him to The River Prypyats Hotel and beat. Then reports for using obscene language and disobedience to the militia were drawn up against him. The complainant asked the prosecutor’s office to bring the guilty to responsibility, BelaPAN news agency reports.
Prosecutors questioned officers of the patrol and guard service regiment and concluded that none of them had beaten Zhukouski. Prosecutors carried out examination and concluded that there were no elements of crime and Zhukouski had hurt himself when he had fallen to the ground.
