Member of Sannikov’s initiative group fined in Dzyarzhynsk

A member of the initiative group for collection of signatures for Andrei Sannikov’s nomination as a presidential candidate was fined Br 35,000 even without giving him a chance to read the record.

On October 12 a volunteer Alyaksandr Tarnahurski was collecting signatures in a residential house, and when he left one of the doors, a police car arrived and policemen asked him what he had been doing. Tarnahurski said that he collected signatures, and showed his passport and ht certificate of a member of the initiative group. Policemen detained him and started to draw up a record for absence of a reflector.

When Tarnahurski showed a reflector to policemen, though it is not required to wear a reflector in a housing zone, and said that he won’t sign the report. They said they would fins two witnesses who would confirm their words. The volunteer was handed into a car, the car drove by taxi cars, and a police officer Rutkouski said to the taxi drivers to sign the repot.

Today Tarnahurski received a decree that he is fined Br 35,000. However the chief of the traffic police of Dzyarzhynski police department Syarhei Varapaj refused to give him the report to read, saying that the names of the witnesses in it are secret information.
