Sikorski urged Foreign Ministries of EU countries to monitor elections in Belarus

On November, 22 the Head of the MFA of Poland Radosław Sikorski paid attention to relations with Minsk and the upcoming presidential elections in Belarus at the meeting of foreign ministers of the EU.
It is reported by “Polskie Radio dla Zagranicy”.
“Minister Sikorski urged EU partners to monitor the election campaign in Belarus with close attention and send as many observers as possible. In addition, he called for closer cooperation with Belarus in case the voting will be held democratically” – the spokesman of the Polish Foreign Ministry Marcin Bosatski informed reporters.
The site of the Polish Foreign Ministry specifies that Belarus was also mentioned by Sikorski, who was going to tell his colleagues about the results of his visit to Belarus.
The official visit of Sikorski and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Guido Westerwelle in Belarus took place on November, 2.
