Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has met with Belarusian leader in Kyiv today.
“A new stage in our relations is coming,” noted Viktor Yanukovych during the meeting.
“We are ready to consider all the main strategic directions of our relations’ development. I am ready to work together with you, for neighborly economic relations between us to develop dynamically,” he stated.
“I haven’t forgotten, and won’t forget the native land of my forefathers, Vitsebsk region,” Yanukovych added.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka said that he remembers the last meeting with Yanukovych in Minsk well. “We have reached many agreements then. And no matter what they say about different authorities that have come, we have been able to implement all the agreements we have reached,” he underlined. “We need no divisions in the East, West or South. We have a successful country, a state with wonderful people,” he added.
According to “Korrespondent”, Lukashenka has arrived to Kyiv with his younger son Nikolay (Kolya).
We remind that today, February 25, Viktor Yanukovych has sworn in to the Ukrainian nation in the Supreme Rada and has become Ukrainian President. Then Yanukovych assumed command of the Military Forces of Ukraine and came into office as President.
