Officials got reprimands for death of Belarusian independent journalist

A special commission was created in Mahilou to investigate the death of journalist Vadzim Arshynski from Mahilou.
As Radio Svaboda reminds, journalist Vadzim Arshynski, who worked for Belarusian independent media, died in Mahilou on February 18. He was died at the entrance to his house (20 Pershamaiskaya Street) under the canopy that collapsed on him under the weight of snow and broken stones.
Official sources have reported today that the commission of the Mahilou city executive committee, which was formed after the accident, issued reprimands to head of the Leninski district executive committee Uladzimir Tsumarau and deputy head, chief executive of the city utility enterprise. Two officers of the utility department #1, including its head, have been dismissed. The order of the commission was signed by head of the city executive committee Stanislau Baradauka.
Official sources also note that the prosecutor’s office hasn’t given is ruling yet.
Vadzim Arshynski was buried on February 20. He was 50 years old. Had a wife and two sons. Journalist of both state-run and independent media attended the funeral.
