Candidate to Rudauka local council Anastasia Azarko, a member of Young Belarus organization, was told in the election commission that she had been removed from the ballot.
Euroradio learnt this from head of Young Belarus movement Artur Finkevich.
“A reason for removing Anastasia Azarko form ballot was the fact she participated in Freedom Day demonstration in Minsk on March 25. They said that she couldn’t run in the elections as she had followed an unauthorized route. The commission refused to give an official document that could explain reasons for Azarko’s withdrawal from ballot,” Finkevich said.
As it has become known, management of the flax-processing plant in the town of Haradzeya, where Anastasia Azarko works, looks for excuses not to prolong labour contract with her.
