Even the president's press-service does not know how much the Belarusian president earns.

The European Radio for Belarus tried to find out whether the crisis had influenced the salaries of presidents of the neighbouring countries and the Belarusain ruler.

As before, the salary of the Lithuanian president is equal to 12 average salaries. However the present Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaite earns less then her predecessor Valdas Adamkus by about 12%, that is, she gets 7,200 Euro a month, told the head of the Finance and Accounting Department of Presidential Administration of Lithuania.

"24,750 Lt without deducting taxes," informed. "And the net salary of Dalia Grybauskaite is 18,810 Lt, that is about 5,500 Euro."

The salary of Latvian president Valdis Zatlers has been decreased in connection with the crisis as well. According to "Interfax", last year he earned 12% less than in 2008, 38,000 lats for the year. That is about 4,500 Euro a month.

The salary of the Polish president Lech Kaczynski hasn't changes considerably, his office informed. It can be checked by anyone: just visit the website of the president.

At the website www.prezydent.pl there is a "Questions and answers". There is an answer there: "What is the salary of the president?" And everything is written there, how his salary is formed. Every month Lech Kaczynski is paid 20, 137 PLN (with taxes). It's about 5, 240 Euro.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev also cares about transparency of his revenue. Every internet user can learn from his website about his earnings, the property he owns and how much money he holds in banks, the press-service of the Russian president informs.

In 2008 Dmitry Medvedev earned more than 4 mln 140 Russian rubles, that is more than 140,000 USD. However it is not clear whether the crisis has influenced his benefits, as the figures for 2009 haven't been provided by Dmitry Medvedev yet.

As for the salary of the newly elected head of Ukraine, it is not easy to find out his exact wage rate. The financial department of the Administration of the Ukrainian president has just confirmed that the presidential salary had been reduced twice, as Viktor Yanukovych promised before the election.

In 2008 Viktor Yushchenko earned about 46,000 Euro. That is about 3,800 Euro a month. It means that the salary if the present Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych is to be less than 2,000 Euro.

As for the income of the Belarusian leader, even his press-service is unaware of it. Lukashenka's website does not have any information about his salary as well. As the European Radio for Belarus was told by the spokesperson of Lukashenka Pavel Lyokhki, this information does not interest mass media and the nation much.

"I do not know whether people would be interested by this information. Frankly speaking, I have never thought about that. It is not so interesting to know about the president for me personally, for instance. And it is very interesting how much a journalist of the European Radio for Belarus earns. You wouldn't post at your website how much you earn, would you?" Lyokhki asked.

We remind that the last open information about the income of Alyaksandr Lukashenka appeare din 2005 and was stated in his pre-election income declaration. THen the Belarusian ruler was officially paid about 59 mln Br for 12 months, which is about 20,000 Euro.
