Belaruskali and pipelines are for sale?

Republican unitary enterprise "Production Amalgamation "Belaruskali" has been excluded from the list of entreprises in the sole property of the state.

It has been said to journalists by the director of the State Property Fund of the State property committee of Belarus Natallya Zharnasek after the "chamber of representatives" passed in the second reading the draft law on objects in the sole property of the state, Interfax reports.

"Potash producing has been excluded from the list of objects owned by the state only and now a decision could be adopted to create a joint stock company," I. Zharnasek said.

As said by her, all the preparatpry work for Belaruskali privatization has been finished. In particular, documents for a statutory fund formation and market-based valuation of Belaruskali have been prepared. I. Zharnasek has not said exact figures, referring to the fact that formallyy the decision to privatize Belaruskali has not been adopted yet. Besides, "the decision to set up a joint stock company does not authomatically mean its privatization". The issue of Belaruskali privatization is not on the agenda yet," she said adding that more than 2,000 joint stock companies have been created in Belarus, in which the share of the state prevails.

At the same time, over the all history of the realignment of ownership rights, "there was no such a statutory fund as in Belaruskali before. It is a capital-intensive entreprise: it has five acting mines, one under construction, anda survey of another one is underway," I. Zharnasek noted, adding that "the cost of Belaruskali assets is huge".

The fund director has also informed that in accordance with the adopted draft law, trunk pipelines have been cencelled from the list of objects in the sole property of the state.
