"Say the truth" campaign activists who had been seized their property on May 18-19, have not been returned anything still.
Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu, the leader ofthe campaign, says that the police pretends that they had not seized anything.
"We are trying to restore the structure somehow, to return at least some things. People are not greatly intimidated, only some of them have left, most are ready to continue work. But it is rather difficult to fix the situation with the equipment. As they give us back nothing, simply nothing. They do not react to any our applications. They pretend that they had not seized anything from us and do not owe anything to us," Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu said to Radio Svaboda.
Books, manuscripts, documents have been seized from Nyaklyaeu, other activists have been confiscated computers, phones, office equipment, without which it is impossible to continue work. Money have been seized from many people, for instance, money for personal spending from Yury Varonezhtsau from Homel.
Svyatlana Navumava has been seized money she collected after she got ill. The woman needs a donor kidney, she has collected money for an operation. This money have been swept out completely...
The investigation directorate of the police department of Leninski distrisct that investigates the case of "Say the truth" denies comments on the situation with the property and money of activists. The head of the department Dzmitry Simkou refers to the fact that the investigation has not been finished yet.
Meanwhile, information has emerged that the case initiated under the article "Dissemination of false information about goods and services" against "Say the truth" investigated by policemen from Leninski district police department, was allegedly opened after a statement from a prining house from Smolensk. Allegedly the details of this firm had been placed on the postcards of "Say the truth" campaign illegally.
As said by the editor-in-chief of "Tovarisch" newspaper Syarhei Vaznyak, who is one of the suspects in this case, the information about Smolensk firm which appeared on the postcards could be a planned provoication.
