And tomorrow “a cold spell” starts in Belarus, to 27-29 degrees Centigrade.

Years-long temperature records have been beaten in Mahilyou and Homel, Interfax was informed by the Republican Meteorological Office (HydroMetCenter) on Sunday.

“50-year-long record has been broken in Mahilyou, where air was almost 33 degrees Celsius. In 1951 on July 18 it was 32.1 degrees Celsius in Mahilyou,” weather men stated

They say that a temperature record has been also reached in Homel, where the temperature soared to 35 degrees Celsius, which is 2 degrees higher than the temperature record in 2001.

Meteorologists forecast that this weekend was the hottest over the entire summer, and warn that in South Eastern part of Belarus the temperature could reach 36 degrees Centigrade. Meteorologists note that 36 degrees Centigrade temperature is considered a hazardous natural phenomenon by experts.

The HydroMetCenter forecasts that a relative cold spell is to start in Belarus since July 20, when the day temperature of air would go down to 27-29 degrees Centigrade.
