Charter’97 website hit by strongest DDoS attack ever

  • 19.07.2010, 12:38

The Charter’97 website survived the strongest DDoS attack it has ever met.

After charter97.org had posted the second part of NTV film “Godbatka” on Friday evening, a massive DDoS attack was launched against the site. It started at 4:15 pm. and lasted until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. It was the first case of attacking our website, but cyber-terrorists have hit a record – the attack capacity was 2.5 Gbit/s, thus exceeding our hosting provider’s capabilities. The website was temporally disabled.

We remind that “Godbatka 2” was not shown in Belarus. The Internet is the only opportunity to watch the documentary accusing the Belarusian authorities and Alyaksandr Lukashenka of implication in disappearances and killings of famous Belarusian politicians, public figures and journalists.

The Belarusian authorities are apparently interested in blocking uncomfortable information and involved in organizing attack on our website.
