Publisher of “Bojki Klyotsk” asks for political asylum in Poland

An activist of “For Freedom” movement from Klyotsk, 58-year-old Syarhei Panamarou, has asked for political asylum in Poland.
A criminal process against him is scheduled for August 23, and the man was to give a written undertaking not to leave the place before the court.
According to the investigators, by his articles in “Bojki Klyotsk” bulletin issued by him, Panamarou insulted 5 Klyotsk officials, including the chairman of the local district executive committee.
As informed by “Nasha Niva”, at the moment Syarhei Panamarou is in a refugee camp. He arrived to Poland through Russia and Ukraine. There he was met by representatives of “Freedom and democracy” foundation. The activist plans to find a job in Poland and hopes to continue his public and political activities there.
