Homel police is not willing to return the money confiscated from the local oppositionists.

On August, 25 the preliminary consideration of a claim of Larysa Varonezhtsava against the Department of Internal Affairs of Homel region Executive Committee took place in the Central Court of Homel. Representatives of the Department of Internal Affairs ignored the court, “Belarusian partisan” reports.

The wife of a civil activist Jury Varonezhtsau demands, that the Department of Internal affairs of Homel region Executive Committee should return to her family personal belongings and 4700 USD, confiscated on May, 18 during general search of activists of the “Tell the Truth” campaign.

The resolution according to Article 250 of the Criminal Code – distribution of false information about goods and services, was passed by the investigator of Leninsky Regional Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk Viktoriya Yuchnevich, and the executives were Homel policemen.

The representatives of the Department of Internal Affairs of Homel region Executive Committee did not come to the preliminary hearing of the case.

In the nearest time the lawyer of Larysa Varonezhtsava will direct requests concerning the relation of the confiscated money and other belongings to the criminal case on distribution of untruthful information to the District Department of Internal Affairs of Leninsky District of Minsk and Department of Internal Affairs of Homel region Executive Committee. In particular, what relation does the notebook of Jury Varonezhtsau’s daughter, on which she was doing her school home works have to this case? Or the mobile phone of his disabled son?

The next court proceedings will take place on September, 27.
