It is still unknown whether deputies of the “chamber of representatives” will assign a date for presidential election at the extraordinary session on September 7.
It has been said by the chairperson of the Central Election Committee Lidziya Yarmoshyna to the European Radio for Belarus.
“I would like to say frankly, that we have not received any additional information on that point. We do not have any offers, the chamber of representatives has not coordinated our approval of any draft enactments concerning the election date. At least, there is no information still that this issue has been placed on the agenda of the extraordinary session. But this question can be placed on the agenda the previous day as well. So I cannot say “yes” or “no” concretely on this issue,” the head of the CEC said.
As said by the chairperson, no one in the CEC is worried by such uncertainty of the date of the elections. Draft texts of almost all necessary documents, except “Enactment on personal financial funds” are ready. There are money for the election, and the necessary number of temporary employees would be provided by the chamber of representatives”.
“Vast professional experience and long period in this position have taught me to take a philosophical approach to everything. Moreover, we know the period approximately: in any case, the election is to start in autumn. The difference is, whether it will be early or late autumn,” Yarmoshyna said.
As soon as the date would be assigned, Yarmoshyna says, within two days after that the Central Election Committee would be able to start the work related to the election.
