Lukashenka: foreign investments are not attracted to the country

Incomings of foreign investments to Belarusian economy made up only 20,4% of the last year level, the warehouses are heaped up with unrealized goods.

At the today’s meeting on the issues of social and economic development of the country А.Lukashenka, stated that in fact direct foreign investments are not attracted to Belarus which are not only a significant financial support of the national economy, but they bring contemporary technologies and newest scientific developments, “Interfax” reports.

“In my opinion, the work of state bodies in this direction is utterly unsatisfactory, as net incomings of direct foreign investments to the economy of the country made up only 20,4% of the last year level “, - А.Lukashenka stated.

He also noted, that imbalance of foreign trade is preserved as previously; the export diversity is quite low. In particular, Lukashenka stated, “for the 6 months of this year negative balance of foreign trade of goods and services has formed in the sum of $2,4 bln”.

At the meeting А. Lukashenka also suggested discussing the situation at the foreign currency market. “In fact we have negative balance from the side of economic players: purchases exceed sales almost by $3 bln”, - Lukashenka said.

Talking about the problem of utilization of stocks of finished products, Lukashenka asked, why it has not been solved yet despite his numerous instructions. “Finished products for the sum of 6 trillion Belarusian Rubles are remaining at the warehouses of manufactory enterprises till now”, - head of the state stated. According to his words, “it is very important to solve this problem. The financial state of the real sector of the economy depends on it”, - Lukashenka noted.
