Public prosecutor's office justified the arrest of newspaper “Wolny gorad”

Public prosecutor's office of Krichev region found no grounds for prosecution of native policemen.

The publisher of independent Krichev newspaper “Wolny gorad” Uladzimir Kudryavtsev charged three policemen with misappropriation of 297 pieces of his publication and with impeding professional activity of journalists, “Radiyo Svaboda” reports.

The letter to Kudryavtsev signed by Regional Prosecutor says that unregistered publication “Wolny gorad” is issued with violation of Mass Media Law. That is why prosecutors do not see grounds for a check and commencement of prosecution against the policemen who visited the editorial office.

By the way, the principal topic of the arrested issue was the article “NTV struck the reputation of President Lukashenko” with the comment of Pavel Sheremet about a scandal film of the Russian TV company “Krestny batka”.
