The Ministry of Agriculture of Belarus initiates increase of purchasing prices for food products.
It has been stated by first Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Belarus Nadzeja Katkavets at the regional scientific and practical seminar on strategies of development of agribusiness in Vitsebsk region, BelaTA informs.
The draft decree of the Council of Ministers on increase of purchasing prices for pork, beef and milk is ready. It is offered to increase purchasing prices for pork and beef in September depending on the category of the meat, and milk by 10% in October.
Commenting on the proposal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Katkavets noted that the situation in the Russian food market had allowed Belarusian milk processing factories to acquire a margin of safety. Since August 27 purchasing price for milk has grown in Russia, now it is equivalent to almost Br1,900 per litre.
“Belarusian milk processing factories have passed through two price increases, and they have enough resources to share these sale proceeds with manufacturers of agricultural producers,” the first deputy minister believes.
